Overview

«Civilization V: Gods & Kings» includes 27 new units, 13 new buildings, 9 new wonders of the world, and 9 new civilizations. Also, there is a new resource - the faith that allows players to establish their own religion whose attributes can be changed. Diplomacy games redesigned and now includes espionage, embassies and new types of city-states: the religious and trade. Themselves city-states also have a new job and a new system of strategic importance. The battle system is redesigned and now includes a "smart" AI, enhanced era of modern times, and a more developed system of sea battle with the addition of the Great Admiral and warships, capable of entering into the melee. All units now have 100 HP instead of 10. Some units have been redesigned, new types of units - as unique, available only to new nations and shared.

The expansion pack includes three new scenarios: "The Fall of Rome", focused on the sunset of the Western Roman Empire; "The Renaissance", which describes the influence of religion in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance; "The world of steam and steel", taking place in an alternate Victorian era with elements of steampunk.
Religion

Addon again adds the element of religion, which is absent in the fifth part. Players can base their religion and to change its quality and beliefs. These beliefs influence the game and spread the religion that generates life "faith" (similar to the resources of "culture" and "science"). With the help of the great prophets, missionaries and inquisitors, the player can spread religion and to manage it. The greatest influence on diplomacy and international relations religion has in the first two-thirds of the game, while its effect will drop significantly as we approach the modern era. The addon includes 11 religions: Buddhism, Taoism, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Confucianism, Sikhism, Shintoism and Christianity Tengriism. The player has the opportunity to rename his religion.
Espionage

In Wrath espionage may be involved against any civilization, including the city-state. Spies can steal the technology, adjust the election, make a revolution in the city-state, to learn about the secret plans of other civilizations. Unlike other parts spyware add-on can not be hired by the player. Instead, civilization gets to spy on each new era since the Renaissance. Successfully completing quests, spies gain experience. Enemy spies can be caught and questioned by providing information about their civilizations. Spies are not available until the Renaissance, when the influence of the religion begins to fall.
Civilizations and Leaders

Supplement includes 9 new civilizations and leaders of Austria (Maria Theresa), Byzantium (Theodora), the Huns (Attila), Denmark (Harald I Sinezubov), Carthage (Dido), the Celts (Boudicca), Maya (Pacal), the Netherlands ( William I of Orange), Sweden (Gustav II Adolf) and Ethiopia (Haile Selassie I). Also, Spain (Isabella I) and Mongolia (Genghis Khan), previously available only in the DLC, are included in the expansion pack.
