The orientation in space has a universal value for all parties of human activities, covering various aspects of its interaction with reality.Therefore, the harmonious development of the child is impossible without the development of his ability to orientation in space.
In numerous philosophical, psychological and pedagogical investi--vaniyah revealed the exceptional role of the objective of development and social space to build a complete picture of a child of the world, awareness of one´s place in it.Penetrating all spheres of the child´s interaction with reality orientation in space affects the development of his self-consciousness, personality and, therefore, is an integral part of the socialization process.
Today there is no doubt of the fact,that the child´s orientation in the surrounding area is not only a physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and complex phenomenon, with historical origins and nature. It develops as a special integrated sensory-perceptual ability and is based on the acquisition of socially determined,cultural ways of perception, play (modeling), the transformation of spatial relations.
Spatial Orientation is based on the perception of governmental By direct-space and space-verbal designation governmental categories (location, distance, spatial otno-tions between objects).The concept of spatial orientation is to assess the distance, size, shape, the relative position of objects and their position relative to a reference.
The object of study: the spatial orientation of the mentally retarded-school children.
