The main heroine of Mirror´s Edge: Catalyst has again become the girl Faith, but her story has changed. At this time, the creators briefly indicate its formation, and the role of the secondary characters increased significantly. In addition, the developers have paid much more attention to the story than the first part, although the core of the project remains with the gameplay.
The project is again went parkour - rapid movement and overcoming obstacles. Speed ​​plays a key role in the mechanics of the game: speeding, Faith can run longer on the wall or at one blow cut down the enemy. The DICE assured did not fundamentally change the gameplay and limited study of the world and the increase in the available routes for the movement. Most locations require not only horizontal but also vertical movement, and the main difficulty was the fastest and most effective level of the passage.
The game returned to the so-called "running sight" - visual color selection of objects with which the player can interact with. Key places, for example, stand out bright red and suggest to the player, in which direction to move.
Several fights mechanic changed. Developers Faith deprived opportunities to raise and use firearms, but significantly expanded its arsenal of melee. Players have to avoid possible collisions with opponents, but now they will be able to repel even a small group of enemies.
