INTRODUCTION

Human personality is a complex structure, is a product of its development.Among the many components of personality is one of the major self-esteem. Self-esteem plays a tremendous role in the process of self-regulation of individual behavior and its interaction with the environment. Self-esteem is largely determines the level of the child´s claims.From the ratio of self-esteem and level of aspiration depends largely on the emotional state of the children.
The problem of self-identity is relevant for everyone regardless of age. From that, how many people evaluate themselves adequately, it depends on the total internal state and his attitude towards others in general.Improper self-esteem leads to the formation of many personal anomalies, such as irritability, resentment, anger, and many others. All this leads to the relevance of the theme of the course work.
The special nature of the problem of self-esteem in the process of acquiring education of mentally retarded younger students. At first,primary school age in itself confers on the child additional stress associated with the beginning of the learning process that causes a reaction from students in the form of emotional shifts. Secondly, a mentally retarded child is not able to perceive the material that is designed for normal studentsand the learning process should be different from the usual. Education of pupils should take place in special schools.
The immaturity of the personality of the mentally retarded younger schoolboy, due primarily features of its needs, and intelligence manifested in a number of features of its emotional sphere.
In this way,the problem of self-esteem of mentally retarded younger schoolboys multifaceted and requires a more in-depth study. It affects all spheres of life of students, which causes the relevance and importance of the theme of the course of the study.
