The digital part of the transceiver. After much experimentation, I came to the conclusion that a simple and reliable receiver for RS232 is difficult to make. For RS232 need tinkering something like scheme "tied to the level of the black (or white?)" - As in television. Simple means to me it was not possible. Therefore, it was decided to move to pulse-code representation RS232 signals and transmission of information pulses. This system is designed for a long time and is called the IRDA. However, the problem statement link must be through com port. Somewhere in-HETE I saw chips (bourgeois, of course) that connect directly to the com port and the output pulse sequence at them or even just an optical signal. And the receiver is integrated in the same chip. I do not like this thing for two reasons: the relatively expensive and rigid adherence to a fixed speed com ports. Ie if you (or some clever program) decided to reconfigure the port to a different speed - you need to change the clock speed of the chip at the entrance. For all these reasons, I decided to make something similar to the IRDA, but more simple and independent of the speed of the port. Here's what happened.
